Edinburgh, York & the Scottish Highlands – weekend tour from Brighton, Worthing & Eastbourne

4 days

Moderate

A weekend in Scotland’s stunning capital city, including a visit to medieval York, and an optional day in the beautiful Scottish Highlands.

Edinburgh is Scotland's capital; a city filled with history, culture, engaging attractions and beautiful architecture. Spend your time exploring its cobbled streets, hidden closes, and lively food and drink scene. Find out what makes Edinburgh so special, from its status as a UNESCO City of Literature and UNESCO World Heritage Site, to being named one of Time Out's top cities in the world.

A visit to Edinburgh isn't complete without a visit to the stunning Scottish Highlands. Visit the Trossachs National Park for its stunning scenery, including mountains, lochs, and forests. Enjoy amazing views and the best photo from the top of the National Wallace Monument - Stirling’s famous landmark stands above the fields where William "Braveheart" Wallace led his troops to victory at The Battle of Stirling Bridge, and tells the story of the patriot and martyr who became Scotland’s National Hero.

Both ancient and modern history have made York the incredible city it is today. There's the iconic York Minster, architecture from medieval times, and its magnificent Georgian town houses. Shambles is one of York's most famous landmarks and one of the best-preserved medieval shopping streets in Europe. With its cobbled streets and overhanging buildings, it is believed to have been the inspiration behind Diagon Alley from the movie adaptation of the Harry Potter series.
